Summer School at Alexander Academy

Summer school courses offered at Alexander Academy are aimed to help students improve their marks to prepare for the next grade. Moreover, summer school allows some students to graduate in time to qualify earlier for admission to university.

We invite both domestic and international students to apply and experience Alexander Academy’s welcoming school culture!   

Schedule Format

Monday to Friday:
Morning class time: 8:30am – 12:30pm
Afternoon class time: 1:15pm – 5:15pm

Note: Courses only run if there is enough student interest, and teacher availability.

Required documents

For students not studying at Alexander Academy :

  • Copy of student’s most recent report card
  • Copy of student’s birth certificate or passport
  • Copy of Canadian study permit (required for international students)
  • Proof of active medical insurance

Language Requirements

All international students will be required to demonstrate language proficiency through previous academic achievement and language assessment on or before June 24.

Minimum requirements are:
Grade 10 courses: B2 level or equivalent
Grade 11 & 12 courses: C1 level or equivalent

Fees

$100 – Application fee (waived for current students of Alexander Academy)
$100 – Private Health Insurance for international students
$2,000 – Tuition fee for international students
$1,300 – Tuition fee for domestic students
$1,300 – Tuition fee for IELTS classes for domestic and international students 
New summer school students who apply for admission in fall 2024 afterwards will have their fall enrolment application fee waived.

International students/ new students:
Please submit completed application form online or email us on admissions@alexanderacademy.ca.

Students can make the fee payment by bank transfer. Upon receiving payment, you will be issued a receipt that you must save for your own records.

Short-Term University Pathway Program

Our Short-Term University Pathway Program offers international students the chance to experience one semester of study in Canada. Students take a mix of high school courses and 100-level university courses, with up to 1-3 transferable university credits. The program provides a safe, structured transition to university while developing academic readiness and confidence


Short-Term Studies Program

Our flexible, non-credit Short-Term Programs are perfect for international students seeking gap year experiences, school exchanges, language learning, or hands-on exposure to the Canadian education system. Students can enroll for 3–6 weeks of study, with sessions running April–June and November–February. These programs offer a unique opportunity to explore Canadian classrooms, build skills, and experience campus life in a supportive, immersive environment.


Summer Camp

The Alexander Academy–Alexander College Summer Camp 2026 is a two-week academic and cultural immersion program in Vancouver for students aged 15–19. The camp combines English language development with hands-on AI & STEAM learning, giving students exposure to emerging technologies while strengthening communication and academic skills.

Students live on the UBC campus, experiencing university life firsthand, and explore Vancouver through visits to iconic locations such as Stanley Park and Lynn Canyon Park.

This program is an excellent opportunity for students to build confidence, enhance their English proficiency, experience Canadian education, and gain early exposure to university preparation in a global learning environment.
