Marketing and Admissions Officer

Alexander Academy is an independent co-educational high school located in Downtown Vancouver.  We offer the BC high school graduation program in a culturally rich and academically challenging environment for students in grade 8-12.  Alexander Academy is committed to international mindedness and fostering a sense of global citizenship while creating a safe and rich learning environment for all students.  We are looking for an experienced Marketing and Admissions Officer for a permanent full-time role starting immediately.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Admissions and Business Development Director, the Marketing and Admissions Officer will be an experienced and innovative team player.  The appointed person has two main functions. Working closely with the school’s Admissions and Business Development Director, the first function is to provide admissions support within the school’s administrative structure.  The second function is working on recruitment and marketing initiatives for the school. 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:  Director of Admissions and Business Development

EMPLOYMENT TYPE:  Full-time, Permanent  

WORK WEEK:  The Marketing and Admissions Officer is expected to work during the regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (including an unpaid 30-minute lunch break) for a total of 40 hours per week.  Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required when needed.

LOCATION: The position is located at #100 – 602 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 1P1, Canada (1 block from Waterfront Station).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Resides in Vancouver and holds a valid work permit
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in English
  • Fluency in either Spanish, Portuguese, or Farsi and/or additional languages is an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Business Administration, Arts, Education, or another suitable program, with a minimum of 2 years professional experience in marketing and/or school admissions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Superior teamwork capabilities
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and cordiality when working with others
  • Strong ability to take initiative and complete tasks as assigned
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized, diligent, and detail-oriented 
  • Capacity to provide accurate assistance, information, instructions to students and staff in a helpful, friendly, and professional manner
  • Already living in Vancouver with a Canada work permit

 

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Admissions:

  • Fielding questions on admission as well as general school information from students, parents, and agents
  • Coordinate school campus tours
  • Maintain online admission appointment calendar and coordinate applicant interviews
  • Lead follow-up through Hubspot
  • New agent follow-up and agent communication
  • New student follow-up
  • Coordinate Student for a Day events
  • Assist with webinars
  • Organize, manage, and input information into registration database
  • Assist with ongoing development of student registration database
    • Compose acceptance documents for NEW students
    • Offers of enrolment
  • Compose invitation letters (students/families) ongoing as requested
  • Notifications for new and returning students ie: new student orientation packages & emails for each semester 
  • Provide backup reception coverage

Recruitment and Marketing:

  • Build strategic relationship with agencies and other stakeholder groups both locally and overseas
  •  Meet with and enroll students based on their educational specifications & requirements
  • Liaise with agents for enrollment and marketing purposes
  • Travel to various international destinations for educational fairs and agency meetings (Covid-19 protocols preventing international travel for the time being)
  •  Promote Alexander Academy’s educational programs through social media and other online applications
  • Assist the Director of Admissions and Business Development in conceiving, implementing, administering, and evaluating marketing plans
  • Assist with planning student events, including orientations, graduations, and other school events
  • Able to maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations and other institutions
  • Develop, integrate, and manage content for the school website, newsletter, blogs, email campaigns, and social media platforms (ex. Facebook and Instagram)
  • Conduct research and analysis, gather information, write articles and stories, edit content, and adapt material to online format, tone, voice, and style
  • Produce online media analysis, activities, and design on every facet of Online Marketing Campaigns and report Marketing ROI Metrics and input into the Internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Manage ongoing processes and tasks associated with SEO and CRM system
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School and Director of Admissions and Business Development
