Teacher on Call – Highschool Teacher Grades 8-12

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Alexander Academy seeks qualified teaching professionals in various high school subject areas (Science, English, Art, Social Studies). The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada;
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Endorse the school’s mission and vision statement.

Preference will be given to teachers who qualify for certification in British Columbia.

Teacher

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Alexander Academy seeks BC-certified teaching professionals in various high school subject areas. The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Education degree;
  • Current or ability to meet all of the requirements and certifications to teach in BC;
  • Experience teaching in a technology rich environment;
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff members, students, parents, and outside community agencies and partners;
  • Teaching experience with the DP curriculum programme is strongly preferred.

This will critically involve:

  • Ensuring the overall academic standards and assessments within the DP are maintained at a high standard and that students receive engaging and carefully thought-out educational experiences;
  • Have processes and procedures in place to ensure that the quality of learning and achievement is monitored, evaluated and shared;
  • Fostering and facilitating professional development;
  • Ensuring that the course taught is fully articulated in terms of skills and concepts.
