COVID-19 Updates

In response to COVID-19, our classes have gone online as of March 30th 2020. Play the video below to see our virtual classes in action:

As a measure to ensure a continuity of learning, as of Monday, March 30th, students at Alexander Academy will be participating in virtual classrooms. Each student will receive an email from their teachers inviting them to join the class via a link.

We provide support to students who may need additional help to meet graduation requirements via block E. During this unprecedented time, we are here to ensure that all students will receive a final mark at the end of the semester. Every student who is eligible to graduate will graduate.

Teachers are looking forward to engaging with students in real-time while keeping the community safe from the spread of COVID 19. Students and staff stay connected within our online community via fun, engaging and purposeful activities.

For graduating students, school transcripts will continue to be issued upon request. We await information from the Ministry of Education as ongoing communication is taking place with universities and colleges. Parents, custodians and grade 12 students will be provided with an update as information becomes available.

Please contact info@alexanderacademy.ca for any questions regarding the virtual classroom.

Prospective students that are unable to finish their studies at their current schools may complete the duration of their school year at Alexander Academy. International students who wish to return to their home country will be supported and given opportunities to continue with our online courses to complete their course work to continue their education program this year. Please contact our admissions director on how to apply admissions@alexanderacademy.ca

Alexander Academy recommends that all students planning to come to Canada from overseas should continue with their applications as we will continue to offer online courses until the COVID-19 crisis has been resolved. Again, please contact our admissions director on how to apply for September 2020 admissions@alexanderacademy.ca

Despite all of the challenges worldwide, here at Alexander Academy we remain positive during this challenging time. We know that the COVID-19 virus will pass and that things will return to normal. We are here to keep our virtual presence alive as the world self-isolates!

May 12, 2020

Dear Parents, Custodians and Students,

The provincial government released a comprehensive action plan last week called BC Restart Plan to guide British Columbia through the next stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important for all British Columbians, and all international students currently attending school in our province to be aware of its contents.

What this means for the students of Alexander Academy is that we will continue to deliver our current curriculum in the same on-line format for the foreseeable future – including our summer school semester. At this point, it appears that we will not plan to be back into full session on our downtown campus until the earliest of September of this year. Even then, it is possible that we may have a mix of on-line learning and regular classes on campus.

We thank you so much for your patience under these uncertain circumstances, as we know this crisis has impacted all of us in so many different ways. We are very proud of how resilient and flexible our students have been in adapting to learning in this crisis. It is certainly a sign of hope for the future we will all share together.

Please know that our staff is available to answer your questions whenever they arise. Thank you for your time and continued patience. We will keep you updated as the situation changes.
