Alexander Academy got your weekends sorted!
Students spend most of their time in and around campus. We have a list of fun things that you can do with your new friends in Vancouver.
It is a dream come true for students to experience both, comfort and fun at school. The young ones look for ways to make academics fun and interesting. At the end of the day, we work hard only to party harder 😉
Alexander Academy is in the heart of Downtown Vancouver! *drumrolls* Let your heart skip a beat…
It is the most accessible location in terms of transportation and convenience. We are one block away from Waterfront station, which is the main connection station to all major cities on different routes. The waterfront station is also connected to the Sea bus and several buses, just a skip and jump away.
Without further ado, let’s dive in:
1. Seawall walk/ bicycle ride at Stanley Park
Lush greens, snow-capped mountains and the sea. Vancouver’s Stanley Park Sea-wall is straight out of a Hollywood movie. Alexander Academy is around 3 km from Stanley Park. You can walk, bike or take a bus. As we said, everything is just a hop-skip and jump away from our campus. You want it, you have it!!
2. Gastown and the famous Steam Clock
One of the oldest towns in Vancouver, Gastown is all things pretty! Gastown is a quaint little neighbourhood with cute cafes, hip restaurants and local boutiques. From the old brick buildings to the cobblestone streets, Gastown is such a charming and beautiful little neighbourhood to explore in Vancouver!
3. The foodie city– just over 700 restaurants to choose from!
Vancouver is a foodie city, with over 700 food and beverage varieties to choose from. Vancouver has some of the best streets to satiate your hunger. Robson Street has many fast-food joints, high-end sit-down restaurants and a number of sweet and savoury joints. Asian cuisine lovers are welcome to try different delicacies in Chinatown. Downtown has a vast variety of food options and you will be spoilt for choice!
4. Granville Island
Granville Island is one of a kind urban island. Artistic, historic and fun, are what best describe Vancouver’s most loved spot. Granville Island has many small unique artesian shops, a farmers market, dining by the water and amazing views of Vancouver.
Granville Island hosts many festivals throughout the year; music, literature, performing arts, and food. Enjoy paddle boating, and boat rides or take the Aqua-bus for a touristy feel during summer. Granville Island has something for all and is a must-visit.
5. Vancouver Science World
The Science World is a globe-shaped building which lights up at night. It is a spectacular view of the Downtown skyline.
It has a number of interactive indoor and outdoor exhibits, inspirational feature exhibitions and jaw-dropping live science demonstrations. Inviting all science geeks and experimentalists. When not on campus you can still make learning fun.
6. Fly Over Canada
This is a must-do. Locals and tourists of all age groups enjoy this experience. It is located in downtown Vancouver along the harbour coast. Grab your campus buddies and fly away!
Buckle up and sit suspended in front of a spherical screen that creates the illusion of flying across Canada’s awe-inspiring landscapes from coast to coast during your eight-minute flight.
FlyOver Canada uses advanced technologies to take you on a breathtaking ride that showcases Canadian beauty through different locations and makes it so real that you leave the place absolutely awe-struck. A sensory experience using special effects like wind, mist, and scents to experience the world’s most scenic locations.
This is just the beginning of all the fun and frolic around; we can’t wait for you to explore things on your own and add them to our list.
