Located in downtown Vancouver, BC, Alexander Academy is a private school for students in grades 8 – 12. We offer four distinct educational programs and over 45 courses per semester to ensure a tailored learning experience for our students.
With a 1-to-9 teacher-to-student ratio and small class sizes, our teachers are able to provide a safe, caring and international-minded environment that takes advantage of the city’s attractions and cultural diversity.
Our Presenters
Jenny Guan, Student Services Manager
Jenny received her Bachelor of Science (major in Biology) and Bachelor of Education from the University of British Columbia. She had taught various subjects at a secondary level, including Math and Science, in British Columbia. She believes in the importance of acknowledging each student's individual needs and unique learning styles, and helped hundreds of students with university application at Alexander Academy.
Berenice Lewis, Director of Admissions and Business Development
Berenice Lewis is a graduate of the University of Calgary where she received her Bachelor of Education. She also holds a Master of Arts from the University of Phoenix with a specialization in Leadership and Administration. She has extensive experience in independent schools, working as a former educator, principal, Head of School, and now Director of Admissions. Her diverse experiences in the field of education confirm her belief in the power of education to drive positive change within her community and beyond.
Our Programs
Summer School
Summer school courses offered at Alexander Academy are aimed to help students improve their marks to prepare for the next grade.
Moreover, summer school allows some students to graduate in time to quality earlier for admission to university.
BC Dogwood Diploma
Awarded to students who successfully complete the provincial graduation requirements.
Each student must acquire 80 credits from a combination of required courses, elective courses and the Graduation Transition program.
The University Transfer Program
This program is designed for grade 11 and 12 students who require less than 10 credits to graduate.
This program gives students the option to study dual credit university transfer courses concurrently at our sister school, Alexander College.
English Language Development Program
This program is a preparatory program that develops core English language skills within our high school setting.
The program consists of four levels that focus on language learning in the context of academic subjects, such as science, social studies, literature, cultural understanding, and communications.
