バンクーバーの中心部に位置するアレクサンダー・アカデミーは国際バカロレア(IB：International Baccalaureate)ディプロマ・プログラムを提供しているIB 私立高校です。アレキサンダー・アカデミーは8年生から12年生の学生が在籍する男女共学の学校です。三つの明確なプログラム、そして1学期あたり４５コースを提供することで多様な進路方向が選択できます。
11%の生徒－教師比率と少人数で構成されたクラスである為、周辺の治安も良く安心して学業に専念できる環境です。バンクーバーの多様性な環境も活用し、 国際的な教育課程を提供しています。
プログラム
- BC Dogwood Diploma Program（高等学校本科総合課程): ブリティッシュ•コロンビア州の高等学校本科総合課程の卒業証明書として、当州によって指定されている高校の卒業条件を満たした学生に授与される卒業証明書です。当課程を卒業するためには、80単位（２０科目）に該当する必須科目と選択科目、さらにGraduation Transition Programの履修可否が問われます。なお、この課程を無事履修できた場合、BC州だけではなく、カナダ全国のどの大学にも進学できるチャンスが与えられます。
- Concurrent Studies Program（高校ーカレッジ並行履修プログラム):成績が優秀な学生は、本人が希望すればアレクサンダー・アカデミーの姉妹校であるアレクサンダー・カレッジで大学レベルの授業を高校の教育課程と並行して履修することができます。このプログラムを通じて大学で認められている科目を学習することにより、入学に先立って大学の単位を予め取得することができます。
- English Language Development Program （英語準備過程): アレクサンダー·アカデミーは国際的な環境を支援するために、英語を学ぶ際の準備過程であるELL(English Language Learning)プログラムを提供します。ELLプログラムとは、国際学生の英語能力の向上を図り、上級レベルの英語授業を受講できるようにサポートすることです。アレクサンダー·アカデミーの包括的な英語課程を履修することで、英語が母国語ではない学生たちにもネイティブなレベルの授業に自信を持って参加できるようになります。
