About Alexander Academy

Located in downtown Vancouver, BC, Alexander Academy is a private school for students in grades 8 – 12 (age 13-18). AA have 4 distinct educational programs and over 45 courses per semester to ensure a tailored learning experience for our students.

With a 1-to-9 teacher-to-student ratio and small class sizes, our teachers are able to provide a safe, caring and international-minded environment that takes advantage of the city’s attractions and cultural diversity.

Alexander Academy is recognized and accredited by the BC Ministry of Education and FISA (Federation of Independent School Association).

Our Programs

  • The IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12): prepares students, aged 16 to 19, for success at university and life beyond.
  • BC Dogwood Diploma (Grade 8 – 12): This provincial high school diploma requires each student to acquire 80 credits from a combination of required courses, elective courses and the Graduation Transition program.
  • University Preparation Program: (Those who require less than 10 credits to graduate).
  • English Language Development Program: Provides students with the skills necessary to integrate successfully into the standard English program required for BC high school graduation and prepares them for entrance to universities and colleges.
